Terms of Service

Last updated November 2, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Full Stach LLC, the company that makes Plato. By using Plato you agree to them; if you don't, please don't use it. The short version: Plato is a free tool for logging your training, you're in charge of how you train, and your data is yours.

Your health comes first

Plato helps you record and review your training. It is not a doctor, a coach or a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice. Talk to a doctor before you start a new exercise program, especially if you have an injury or a health condition, and stop if something hurts.

Exercise carries a risk of injury. You decide what to lift, how much, how often and how hard, and you're responsible for training safely: warming up, using good form, and using equipment properly and with a spotter where it calls for one. Any exercise you do, you do voluntarily, and you accept the risks that come with it.

Plato doesn't watch for health problems or alert anyone. If you feel chest pain, faintness or unusual shortness of breath, stop and get medical help; in an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

The numbers Plato shows are estimates. Your estimated one-rep max is calculated from the sets you log, and heart rate, calories, distance and pace come from your Apple Watch or iPhone. They can be wrong and aren't suitable for medical use. Exercise guides in Plato are general information, not instruction tailored to you.

Using Plato

Plato is free. It has no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. If that ever changes, these terms will be updated before you're asked to pay for anything.

You may use Plato for your own personal training. You must be at least 13 years old, and if you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

Plato, including its design, code, exercise library and name, belongs to Full Stach LLC. Using the app doesn't give you any ownership of it.

Your account

You can use the whole app as a guest, without an account. If you create one, give an email address you control, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.

You can delete your account and everything in it whenever you like, in the app: Profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone.

Your data

The workouts, weigh-ins and everything else you log are yours. We use them only to run Plato for you, as the privacy policy describes, and never sell them.

We work to keep your data safe and your devices in sync, but no service is perfect. As a guest, your data lives only on your device: if you delete the app or lose the device, it's gone, and we have no copy to restore. Don't rely on Plato as the only record of anything you can't afford to lose.

Fair use

Please don't:

  • try to get into other people's accounts or data;
  • interfere with Plato or the services it runs on, or try to overload, probe or break them;
  • access Plato with bots, scrapers or other automated tools;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you the right to;
  • use Plato for anything illegal.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or puts other people or the service at risk.

Other services

Plato works with services run by other companies, under their own terms: Apple Health and Apple Watch, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and Firebase, which stores account data. Watch a demo opens a YouTube search for an exercise; we don't choose or control the videos it finds, so use your judgment about what you watch and copy.

Apple

Plato is also licensed to you under Apple's Standard License Agreement, and these terms add to it. This agreement is between you and Full Stach LLC, not Apple. Full Stach LLC, not Apple, is responsible for Plato and its support, and for any claims about it, including product, legal and intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

Changes to Plato

Plato will keep changing: features get added, reworked and sometimes removed. We may also stop offering Plato or its account syncing. If we do, we'll give notice here first when we can.

No warranty

Plato is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Full Stach LLC makes no promises about it beyond those in these terms: not that it will always be available, be free of errors, keep every piece of data, or suit any particular purpose.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Full Stach LLC won't be liable for injuries from exercise, for lost data, or for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of Plato. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to $50.

Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

If a claim comes from your misuse

If you break these terms or the law while using Plato, and someone brings a claim against Full Stach LLC because of it, you agree to cover the costs of that claim, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date. Using Plato after that means you accept them.

The rest

These terms, the privacy policy and Apple's Standard License Agreement are the whole agreement between you and Full Stach LLC about Plato. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited as little as possible and the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given it up. We may transfer these terms if Plato changes hands; you can't transfer them without our agreement. The sections on your health, no warranty, limits on liability, claims and governing law keep applying after you stop using Plato.
